It's my 34th birthday today, so that means I can blog about whatever I want, right?
There's a few interesting things afoot... first, we got some great snowboarding in over the last few days, and I hope to get some more during Christmas. I think I officially don't suck at snowboarding anymore - we had a ripping good time last time we went up, and I got lots of air.
Thomas and I worked on our Propits project some more last night - the latest word is that the To-Shin Do Hombu will soon have a Propits button on www.StephenKHayes.com, which is celebratable (is that a word?). We look forward to giving them Props. We'll also be rolling a new website for Propits soon which is prettier and easier to understand.
Then, from a thought experiment last night and further follow-up on a paper napkin at the Rio (Mexican restaurant) today, I solved the real-world value of the imaginary number "i" (otherwise known as the square root of negative one). That was tremendously satisfying because I've been thinking about it off and on since high school. The proof is rather elegant, I think. I'm going to look for an interested mathematician that can work with me to sketch out the further implications and publish a white paper on it. I thought about carving the proof into the table at the Rio, but decided the staff wouldn't like it (that's a math history joke).
And then here at the dojo, we have lots of cool stuff going. I put together a YouTube video of our senior student Thomas changing from blue belt to black belt. The video on YouTube is a little long, and the techno remix of the famous movie music is technically not copyrighted but might confuse people... so I'll be editing that down for our main website Flash video section.
We'll be teaching Reiki in January. We'll do Reiki I on Saturday January 10th, and then we're taking names for folks that might be interested in Reiki II in late Jan/early Feb (I like to break Reiki II into two seperate weekends). Let us know if you're interested in any of that.
We're also offering, until the end of the calendar year, a limited number of Lifetime Memberships here. If you'd like to use your year-end bonus to lock in your training forever, let us know. Or if you'd like to give someone an incredible gift for the rest of their lives.
And I guess the rest is a secret for now... more cool stuff on the way...
